Who Are We ?

The Edimar Center is a palace where one comes to recover the love they have lost

OUR STORY

In 1999, Father Maurizio Bezzi (a PIME missionary) began building a trusting educational relationship with street children in Yaoundé. He cared for them wholeheartedly, helped them learn, supported their search for work, and accompanied them regularly. His joyful and unconditional love for these children drew many of them to him and inspired the Monegasque association “Monaco Aide et Présence” to provide a “home” through the construction of the Edimar Princesse Grace Center in 2002.

The Edimar Center aims to be, as much as possible, a true home for children and young people. Here, they find affection, help, safety, and educational support. All of the Center’s activities are rooted in the ideal of nurturing self-confidence and self-acceptance.

Our Approach

Restoring hope, rebuilding lives

The Edimar Princesse Grace Center welcomes and reintegrates street children and young people released from prison, many of whom have suffered trauma, violence, and extreme vulnerability.

These youth, aged between 10 and 25, have lost their family and social anchors. They often have no access to healthcare or stable education and survive through risky behaviours such as drug use or prostitution. The Center provides a safe space for listening and personalised guidance, aiming to restore hope, dignity, and a future full of possibilities.

Through educational, sports, and social activities, the Center creates strong bonds of solidarity, encourages family and social reintegration, and helps each young person rebuild their life beyond neglect and indifference. This is a work of charity, built on love and respect for each individual’s destiny.
