Reception Program
Helping street children access health, education, training, and support services.
The Reception Program is essential to the Centre, as it allows for the identification of children living on the streets, offering them guidance, attentive listening, and awareness. It also ensures their referral to key services, such as healthcare, education, and vocational training.
This program seeks to address the marginalisation and discrimination faced by street children, rebuild their self-confidence, and offer them alternatives to the daily negative influences they endure. It provides a direct and compassionate response to the challenges they face.
Our Mission
Welcome street youth to the Centre, guide them to appropriate services, and raise awareness of the dangers of street life through various activities.
Our mission is to welcome and support vulnerable youth by offering them a safe and respectful space. We are committed to identifying their needs and guiding them toward appropriate services within the Centre, while ensuring hygiene standards are maintained and their well-being is protected.
Through active listening, educational talks, and fun, cultural, and sports activities, we raise awareness among youth about the constant dangers of life on the streets. We aim to strengthen their self-confidence, support their personal development, and offer them positive alternatives for their future.
Our Vision
We build friendships with young people to foster trust, helping them open up and accept the solutions offered for their future.
We strive to create an environment where every young person feels welcomed, understood, and supported. By establishing genuine and solid friendships, we foster trust – essential for helping young people open up and actively engage with the program.
Through this relationship, we guide them in overcoming difficulties and embracing the solutions we offer for a better future. We firmly believe that this relationship-based approach, grounded in respect and attentive listening, is the key to supporting their well-being and reintegration into society.
Our Challenges
Our difficulties include the instability of the young people, their fear of commitment, greed and laziness, hindering their trust, motivation and participation in the program.
Our main difficulties lie in the instability of the situation of the young people, which makes their commitment and trust fragile. Many of them hesitate to fully invest in the program for fear of new disappointments. Greed and the immediate desire for gain, often nurtured by life on the streets, also represent an obstacle to their personal development and integration into a more stable path.
In addition, laziness and lack of motivation are sometimes barriers to their active participation, making support more complex. In the face of these challenges, we must deploy appropriate strategies to gain their trust, motivate them and offer realistic alternatives.
Our Results
We welcome 100 young people per day, ensure their hygiene with 5 boxes of soap per month, and observe their development through activities such as a football club.
On average, we welcome 100 young people per day at the Centre, where personal and clothing hygiene is a priority. Each month, we use about 5 boxes of 60 soaps (200g), effectively contributing to maintaining adequate hygiene for street children.
The results of our actions are visible through the development of the young people and their strong participation in the activities offered. They actively took part in the creation of a football club and a short film broadcast in November 2024. Additionally, we are seeing increased attendance at the Centre, which demonstrates their growing trust and engagement with the services offered.
