Access to Education, a Shared Commitment
This year, 295 children in vulnerable situations found their way back to primary and secondary school thanks to the Edimar Princesse Grace Center (CEPG) and its dedicated partners: Monaco Aide et Présence (MAP), the Emilia-Romagna Region (in Italy), and the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME).
A Carefully Prepared Back-to-School Season
The CEPG team worked tirelessly to ensure that every child started the school year under the best possible conditions. Educators assisted families with registration procedures and obtaining school supplies. Psycho-educational support was implemented alongside assistance for basic needs (enrollment fees, supplies, transportation, nutrition), allowing children to focus on learning in a peaceful environment.
Education, a Mission at the Heart of CEPG
In conventional schools, 119 children were enrolled this year: 92 in primary school and 27 in secondary school. Meanwhile, 76 children are continuing their learning within CEPG’s own facilities: 30 at the literacy center at the CEPG headquarters and 46 at the Etoudi literacy center.
Beyond basic skills (reading, writing, arithmetic), CEPG works to restore children’s self-confidence and their love of learning. Thanks to partner support, some classrooms have been refurbished and teacher training sessions have been organized.
When Solidarity Turns into Action
CEPG does not work alone. It relies on active partners:
- Monaco Aide et Présence, a long-standing partner, focuses its efforts on school access, nutrition, and transportation. This year, 23 children benefit from comprehensive support (covering enrollment fees, supplies, nutritional aid, and transportation), enabling them to start the school year with peace of mind and full concentration on learning.
- The Emilia-Romagna Region, through the AIDE project, supports school enrollment and equipment. In total, among the 93 beneficiary children, 50 had their enrollment fees and supplies covered in conventional schools, while others received educational materials. This support helps ease the burden on struggling families and ensures educational continuity.
- The Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME), through the “Distance Support” project, provides significant assistance for psycho-educational support and contributes to the schooling of 46 children in conventional institutions. PIME’s involvement strengthens the Center’s psychosocial and educational support programs, promoting the stability and academic success of the beneficiaries.
A Concrete Gesture, a Lasting Impact
For these children, each new school year is a victory. It is a reminder that education is a fundamental right and that through solidarity and guidance, it is possible to transform the lives of those living in precarious conditions.
At CEPG, back-to-school time is not just the start of a new academic year: it marks the beginning of a journey toward dignity, independence, and a brighter future. The support of the Center’s partners and friends makes this mission possible. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps give a child the opportunity to learn, to grow, and to dream.
